Wasted GP Appointments
DNA Appointments (Did not attend)
Feedback from our patients suggests many of our patients would like to have more pre-bookable appointments available, we feel it is important to share our DNA numbers with you to highlight the amount of wasted pre-bookable GP appointments and ask you to think about this when you have an appointment that you are unable to attend. When a patient has an appointment and does not attend (DNA), it is stopping another patient, with genuine medical reasons being given an appointment.
If you cannot attend an appointment, please contact the surgery as soon as you know that you will not be available so this can be released for another patient.
The effect of DNA’s is:
- An increase in the waiting time for appointments
- Appointments frustration for both staff and patients
- A waste of resources
