Your NHS Health Screening
(For transgender & non-binary patients)
Some NHS health checks are based on the organs you have, not just the gender on your medical record.
Who needs what?
- Cervical screening (smear test): Anyone with a cervix (age 25–64)
- Breast screening (mammogram): Anyone with breast tissue (age 50–71)
- AAA screening: Anyone registered male at birth (age 65)
- Bowel screening: Everyone (from age 55)
If you are transgender or non-binary, you may not always get the right invitation automatically.
What to do
Speak to our team in confidence – we’ll help make sure you get the screenings that are right for you.
